Bank of Maharashtra opens new Old Port Road branch

Bank of Maharashtra expanded its footprint in coastal Karnataka by inaugurating a new branch on Old Port Road in Mangaluru. The branch is located at the Indian Red Cross Centenary Building within the DC Office compound.

The facility was inaugurated by Capt Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament from Dakshina Kannada. Other dignitaries present included J Krishna Palemar, CA Shantaram Shetty, and Abdul Latif.

During the ceremony, CA Shantaram Shetty inaugurated the ATM facility, while Allen C A Pereira opened the storage rooms. The event was also attended by Shilpa S Shetty and Dr. Sabirali Shaikh, along with bank officials and invitees.

Speaking on the occasion, Capt Brijesh Chowta congratulated the bank and highlighted the importance of customer-focused banking in supporting regional economic development. CA Shantaram Shetty emphasised that customer satisfaction remains key to long-term growth and praised the bank’s service-oriented approach.

With this addition, the bank now has 10 branches in Mangaluru and 103 across Karnataka, underlining its steady expansion and focus on financial inclusion.

The new branch offers a wide range of services, including housing, car, and professional loans, gold loans, MSME and agriculture financing, and loan-against-property options. It also provides NRI banking, salary accounts, insurance, and investment schemes such as PPF and Sukanya Samriddhi. Customers can access digital services through mobile banking apps, internet banking, and UPI QR facilities.

Special savings and deposit schemes, including Mahalakhpati, Mahamilionaire, Mahasanchay, and Mahasaraswati for children, further enhance its offerings, making the branch a comprehensive hub for modern and customer-friendly banking services.
