VIJAYAPURA
Zilla Panchayat Deputy Secretary Prakash Vaddar has issued a firm directive to district officials to streamline the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). During a high-level review meeting, he emphasized that the program must serve as a reliable safety net for the rural poor by providing guaranteed work and swift payments.
Addressing a hall full of executive officers and technical staff, Vaddar insisted that every eligible family demanding work must receive an assignment within the legal timeframe. He made it clear that delays in wage payments would no longer be tolerated. To ensure this, he ordered that 100% face authentication for all workers be completed within just two days.
The Deputy Secretary highlighted water and soil conservation as top priorities for new projects. He instructed officials to generate labor rolls immediately across all 211 Gram Panchayats to keep the momentum going. Furthermore, he set a strict one-week deadline for completing e-KYC for every registered worker, which is essential for processing their claims and ensuring transparency.
Looking ahead, Vaddar noted that the 2026–27 action plan is already in the system. He warned that any funds lost due to poor quality or audit findings must be recovered and deposited back into the treasury immediately. By pushing for total digital transparency and weekly progress reviews, the administration aims to meet ambitious employment targets while ensuring that every rupee spent directly benefits the hardworking laborers who depend on the scheme for survival.
