YADGIR

MLA Channaraddi Patil Tunnur visited Tati Kuni Cross near Yadgir-Sedam State Highway and inspected local development and civic issues. He reviewed long pending road problems and announced a Rs 5 crore plan for road widening up to Ganganagar, new road construction, drainage system, divider works, street lights on both sides, and a bus stand to improve connectivity and safety.

He instructed officials from the Public Works Department and Municipal Council to remove shops and encroachments falling within the road expansion area. He stressed that heavy traffic on this route requires urgent action and asked departments to begin work without delay. He also discussed traffic congestion issues and said he would consult traffic police to find a permanent solution.

He expressed concern over poor cleanliness near the canal bridge and said waste dumping was creating foul smell and public discomfort. He directed municipal officials to monitor sanitation regularly and take strict action, including fines, against those who dump garbage in public areas. He also urged awareness campaigns for better waste management in the city.

He then inspected the ongoing construction of a vegetable market near Cotton Cross being built at a cost of Rs 2.40 crore. The project includes 71 business stalls, and he expressed dissatisfaction over the small size of the stalls. He said planning should have considered the needs of traders and consumers before design approval.

He criticized officials for not consulting traders during planning and said modifications are still possible since construction is not fully complete. He suggested that larger stalls should be created after joint review with traders and engineers. He also instructed officials to ensure proper arrangements at the market entrance to avoid inconvenience to the public.

He said both projects aim to improve urban infrastructure and provide better services to citizens. Officials from the Public Works Department, Municipal Council, and contractors were present during the inspection and assured that work will be completed as per guidelines. Local representatives also joined and discussed further improvements for long-term development in Yadgir city. He emphasized timely execution and quality standards throughout the projects for public benefit.
