Zilla Panchayat IEC Coordinator Srinivas Chittgara has urged all labourers in Koppal district to actively participate in wage work under the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme by submitting Form No. 6. He made this appeal during the Rojgar Diwas programme organised by Kalakeri Gram Panchayat at the premises of Sant Sharipara Temple in Kalakeri village under the IEC initiative of the scheme.
Speaking to workers he said the wage rate has been fixed at Rs 370 per man-day and labourers should ensure they receive the full payment after completing assigned work. He also cautioned that rising summer heat requires workers to take proper care of their health while working.
He advised that all family members above 18 years holding job cards must submit Form-6 to access work opportunities. He added that labourers should aim to complete 60 days of work between May and June to secure better income support for their families.
Chittgara said wage earnings can help families pay school and college fees meet expenses for competitive exam preparation He also stressed that e-KYC of all job card members is mandatory before attending work and both first and second attendance entries must be properly recorded.
Taluk IEC Coordinator Devaraj Pattara said each job card is entitled to 100 man-days of wage employment which should be fully utilised He said the scheme aims to reduce rural unemployment and migration and help families lead a self-reliant life He also encouraged registration under PMJJBY and PMSBY.
