District Magistrate Dr. Suresh B. Itnal has directed officials to arrange extra buses and ensure safety measures for the 2026 annual fair of Sri Huligimma Devi Temple at Huligi. The move aims to help thousands of devotees expected from across the state.
Officials from transport depots in Koppal, Hospet, Kushtagi, and Gangavathi have been asked to run additional buses to avoid inconvenience. Plans were discussed in a recent meeting to manage the heavy rush and provide smooth travel for visitors. Authorities will also identify proper parking spaces for buses with the help of the police department.
To prevent any untoward incidents during the busy fair days, fire safety arrangements have been strengthened. Fire officers have been instructed to keep a fire engine, boat, and ropes ready near the riverbank from May 10 to 14.
The District Administration has also directed the Sri Huligemma Devi Area Development Authority to take all necessary steps to ensure safety, proper management, and a peaceful experience for devotees.
