A potential accident was averted after a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation electric bus suffered a tyre burst while allegedly overspeeding on Vidyaranyapura Road. According to eyewitnesses, the bus was moving above the speed limit, overtook another vehicle and crossed the double yellow line when the tyre suddenly burst, causing it to veer sideways. A biker recorded the incident on a mobile phone. A car and a motorcycle approaching from the opposite direction narrowly escaped a collision. Passengers on board were unharmed. The bus was brought to a halt at the roadside, following which locals reprimanded the driver for reckless driving.
