Minister M. B.Patil said the state government is committed to the overall development of all sections of society and is focusing on strengthening health, education, and infrastructure across Karnataka.

He was speaking after inaugurating a newly upgraded 30-bed Community Health Centre and a new Town Panchayat office building at Devar Hipparagi in Vijayapura district on Saturday. The programme was jointly organised by the district administration, Zilla Panchayat, District Health and Family Welfare Department, Urban Development Cell, Engineering Unit Bengaluru, and Municipal Administration Department.

Patil said the government, under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has implemented five guarantee schemes that have significantly supported people’s livelihoods over the past three years. He said the schemes are designed with a focus on inclusive welfare and financial stability for all sections of society.

He added that Vijayapura district, which earlier faced acute drinking water shortages during summer, has seen improvement in groundwater levels due to irrigation projects and initiatives like the Koti Vriksha Abhiyan. He said these efforts have helped increase greenery and reduce water scarcity.

The minister said officials have been instructed to conserve water in reservoirs to ensure adequate supply for both people and livestock during summer. He added that steps are being taken to maintain sufficient water levels till August.

Highlighting development works, he said the project to fill 178 tanks in the district has already been implemented, which will further strengthen groundwater recharge through canal networks.

On healthcare, Patil said upgrading the hospital into a Community Health Centre with ICU, maternity, and pediatric care facilities will benefit local residents. He also assured efforts to improve staffing and add dialysis services.
