MIAMI
Kush Maini delivered a stunning performance to claim pole position for the first-ever FIA Formula 2 race in Miami. In a tense qualifying session, he edged past Rafael Camara by just 0.033 seconds. With earlier Middle East rounds cancelled, drivers entered the Miami Formula 2 Race without prior data, making conditions unpredictable. As grip improved on the Hard Rock Stadium track, lap times dropped quickly. Early leader Colton Herta was soon overtaken in a fierce contest. Maini clocked a brilliant 1:39.888 lap under pressure. Martinius Stenshorne secured third but triggered a yellow flag, ending the session. This marks Maini’s second Formula 2 pole, boosting his chances for Sunday’s race. Nikola Tsolov will start first in the Sprint Race due to reverse grid rules.
