RCB possess all-weather bowling attack, says head coach Andy Flower

Flower praises Bengaluru bowlers after destructive PowerPlay spell dismantled Delhi Capitals completely recently

Royal Challengers Bengaluru head coach Andy Flower has hailed his side’s bowling unit as an “all-weather attack”, saying the team is capable of adapting to any pitch conditions.

RCB’s bowling strength was on full display in their previous outing against Delhi Capitals, where the Bengaluru side reduced the opposition to a shocking eight for six within just 3.5 overs. Veteran pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood led the carnage with a sensational new-ball spell that virtually sealed the contest inside the PowerPlay.

Flower said RCB’s ability to strike early has become one of the team’s biggest strengths.

“We’ve been very good at taking PowerPlay wickets, and we did that well last season too,” Flower said. “Against Delhi Capitals, everything came together so quickly and efficiently that the game was over in the blink of an eye. It was wonderful to watch Bhuvi and Hazlewood bowl like that.”

The former Zimbabwe captain also expressed confidence in his bowling resources regardless of surface conditions. Ahmedabad is expected to offer a batting-friendly wicket, but Flower insisted RCB are prepared for every scenario.

“We’re playing on a 75 per cent red-soil pitch, the same one used for last year’s final. But we’re comfortable with whatever conditions are put in front of us,” he noted.

Despite RCB enjoying an impressive campaign with six wins from eight matches, Flower said it was important for the squad to remain grounded and focus only on the next challenge.

“It’s really important philosophically not to hold on to past performances. T20 cricket is unpredictable, and you have to embrace that uncertainty,” he added.

Gujarat Titans assistant coach Parthiv Patel also backed his side’s bowling depth, highlighting options such as Rashid Khan, Washington Sundar and Manav Suthar alongside a strong pace attack featuring Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada.

The high-profile encounter is expected to be a key battle between two well-balanced bowling attacks in IPL 2026.
