Malaria awareness drive continues in Chikkaballapura

World Malaria Day is being observed in Chikkaballapura district till May 2 with the theme “Driven to End Malaria: Now we can, Now we must.” District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr. Mahesh Kumar said the awareness programme began on April 25. Officials explained that malaria is spread by infected Anopheles mosquitoes and symptoms include fever, chills, headache, and nausea within 10 to 14 days. People are advised to get free blood tests at government hospitals for any fever. The Health Department also urged citizens to prevent stagnant water, use mosquito nets, and support spraying activities for effective disease control in the district.
