The election schedule for the 15-member administrative board of the District Yadava Gollara Sangha in Chitradurga has been officially announced, election officials confirmed.
Chitradurga Tahsildar and election officer B.M. Govindaraju said the voting will be held on May 17 at the Government Girls’ High School building on B.D. Road in the city. The process will be conducted as per the bylaws of the cooperative society.
According to the announced schedule, nomination papers can be submitted at the Chitradurga Taluk Office from May 2 to May 8 between 11 am and 3 pm. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on May 9 at the same venue and time.
The list of valid candidates will be published on the notice board of the Taluk Office and Sangha after verification. Candidates can withdraw nominations by May 11 until 3 pm. Election symbols will be allotted the same day, followed by the release of the final candidate list.
The model ballot paper will be displayed on May 13 at 4 pm. Voting will take place on May 17 from 9 am to 4 pm, after which counting of votes and declaration of results will be done immediately.
Officials said only voters whose names appear in the final electoral roll dated April 26, 2026, will be eligible to vote or contest. An election deposit of ₹2,000 is mandatory for candidates.
They also stated that identity cards issued by the association must be produced during voting and the election will be conducted through ballot paper system.
Authorities have advised candidates and voters to follow all rules strictly and contact the election office for further details regarding the process and guidelines.
