The Second Additional District and Sessions Court in Udupi has sentenced a man to life imprisonment in a double murder case involving a woman and her son in Brahmavar taluk. The convicted, Harish R. alias Gopal (33) from Bhadravati in Shivamogga district, was also fined ₹20,000. According to police, the accused knew the victim Chelu (30) and had been pressuring her to marry him. As she was already married, he allegedly developed enmity towards her. On May 8, 2022, he is said to have murdered Chelu and her son at Atradi Madaghe village under Indore police station limits. Following investigation and trial, the court found him guilty and delivered the life sentence.
