The Vande Bharat Express has now been extended to Jammu Tawi, offering a major boost to passenger travel. Northern Railway’s Chief Area Manager, Kapil Sharma, announced that the train’s capacity has been increased from 8 to 20 coaches, a 2.5-fold expansion. The extension, set to be inaugurated on April 30, will help ease travel for passengers, especially students, and reduce waiting times. Designed for all-weather conditions, the train promises safe, fast, and comfortable journeys, with enhanced security and eco-friendly features like CCTV and regenerative braking. This move aims to support tourism and better connect Jammu with Kashmir.
