Dharwad
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao jointly inaugurated a newly constructed community health centre in Amminabavi village of Dharwad taluk, marking a significant step toward improving rural healthcare infrastructure.
The newly inaugurated Community Health Centre has been established through a collaborative effort between the Central and State Governments, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening healthcare services in rural areas. The foundation for the project was laid during the tenure of former MLA Amrita Desai, and the centre has now become operational, bringing much-needed medical facilities closer to the local population.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao highlighted the rising prevalence of serious health conditions such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, and kidney-related ailments. He pointed out that unhealthy food habits, changing lifestyles, and environmental pollution have significantly contributed to the increase in these diseases. Emphasizing the need for preventive care and awareness, he stated that accessible healthcare facilities like this centre play a crucial role in early diagnosis and treatment.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi noted that there had been a long-standing demand from residents to upgrade the healthcare infrastructure in Amminabavi village. He expressed satisfaction that the demand has now been fulfilled with the inauguration of the new facility. However, he stressed that development should not be limited to the construction of buildings alone. According to him, true progress can only be achieved when hospitals are adequately equipped with qualified doctors, trained staff, and essential medicines to serve the public effectively.
The event was attended by several prominent figures, including former MLAs Amrita Desai and Seema Masuti, as well as Bal Vikas Academy President Adivesh Gireppa Itagi, among others. Their presence underscored the importance of the project and the collective effort behind its completion.
The new health centre is expected to significantly enhance healthcare accessibility for residents of Amminabavi and nearby areas, ensuring timely medical attention and improving overall public health outcomes in the region.
