A 25-year-old tech professional from Hassan district died after suffering a sudden brain stroke while speaking with her mother, leaving her family and community in shock.
The deceased, Shweta, had returned home from work on April 25 and was reportedly smiling and chatting with her mother when she suddenly collapsed. Family members said she became unresponsive and lost her ability to speak within moments.
She was rushed to a hospital and later shifted to Bengaluru for advanced treatment. By the time she was admitted, doctors said she had slipped into a coma due to severe brain damage. Despite efforts by medical teams, she did not regain consciousness.
Amid their grief, Shweta’s parents initially decided to donate her organs after being informed that her brain function had failed. However, doctors later said organ donation could not be carried out. She passed away on Sunday morning without responding to treatment.
Her body has since been shifted to her hometown in Hassan for final rites. The incident has left her parents devastated, as she was their only daughter.
The case has also triggered concern among locals, coming in the wake of recent reports of sudden health emergencies among young people in the region. While Shweta was said to be healthy with no known medical history, her sudden death due to a brain stroke has raised anxiety.
Doctors note that such incidents, though rare, can occur due to underlying conditions that may go undetected, highlighting the importance of regular health check-ups even among young individuals.
