Prostitution racket busted in police raid

Athani police have busted an alleged prostitution racket operating in Balligeri village of Athani taluk in Belagavi district. Two accused, identified as Sardar Kamble and Praveen, along with a lodge owner, were arrested during the operation. Police said the action was taken based on a specific tip-off. A raid was conducted at the lodge, where illegal activities were reportedly being carried out using women. Officials also seized certain materials from the spot during the inspection. A case has been registered at Athani Police Station, and further investigation is underway to identify others involved in the racket and verify the extent of the operation.
