Playing for the Delhi Capitals, Rana delivered a stunning performance against the Punjab Kings, scoring a career-best 91 runs. His explosive innings came off just 44 balls, featuring eleven crisp boundaries and four towering sixes that left the crowd in awe.
Rana entered the game needing only 70 runs to reach the milestone. By the time he was finished, he had pushed his career total to 3,021 runs. However, his personal achievement was only half the story. Rana teamed up with captain KL Rahul for a massive 220-run partnership. This incredible stand is now the second-highest in IPL history, falling just short of the legendary 229-run record set by Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers back in 2016.
The pair’s dominance helped Delhi Capitals post a staggering 264/2, the highest team total of the 2026 season so far. While Rahul anchored the innings with a brilliant 152, Rana provided the fire, at one point smashing 28 runs in a single over.
Punjab Kings struggled to find answers as their bowlers were dismantled across the field. Despite a late dismissal, Rana walked off to a standing ovation, having secured his place among the league’s elite run-scorers.
