World Homoeopathy Day 2026 was observed at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, commemorating the 271st birth anniversary of Dr Samuel Hahnemann, founder of homoeopathy.

The event brought together students, faculty, alumni, and healthcare professionals to highlight the importance of homoeopathy in modern healthcare. The programme began with ceremonial traditions, including garlanding of busts of Dr Hahnemann and Fr Augustus Muller, followed by a lamp-lighting ceremony and prayer.

Chief guest Dr H R Thimmaiah, District Health and Family Welfare Officer of Dakshina Kannada, addressed the gathering and appreciated student participation in academic and extracurricular activities. He emphasised that different medical systems have unique strengths and encouraged practitioners to remain committed to their chosen discipline for effective patient care.

Distinguished alumni Dr Gretta Lobo and Dr Joy K Banerjee also participated as guests of honour, sharing professional insights with students. They interacted with attendees during special sessions held after the main programme.

Academic excellence was recognised through the Dr Mukesh Batra’s Homoeopathy Scholarship awards, presented to meritorious students under Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories. The institution also distributed prizes for various competitions conducted as part of the celebrations.

Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, director of the institution, highlighted the growing relevance of homoeopathy and urged students to “profess, practice, and proclaim” their system with dedication and ethical commitment.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, institutional anthem, interactive sessions, and lunch, marking a meaningful celebration focused on learning, recognition, and professional inspiration.
