Kalaburagi DC inspected the road and waste management projects, directing officials to speed up civic infrastructure works

District Collector B. Fouziah Taranum conducted an inspection of ongoing civic infrastructure and housing projects in Kalaburagi, reviewing progress and issuing directions to ensure timely completion of works aimed at improving urban facilities.
The Collector inspected the multi-storey residential housing project for civic workers being developed under the Gruha Bhagya scheme at Filter Bed area on Taj Sultanpur Road. The project, estimated at 23 crore, is intended to provide housing facilities for around 220 civic workers. During the visit, she instructed contractors to complete construction within the stipulated timeframe and expedite electrification works by initiating tender processes without delay.
Officials were also directed to ensure quality standards in construction and maintain project timelines to avoid delays in allotment to beneficiaries. The housing initiative is expected to significantly improve living conditions for municipal staff engaged in essential urban services.
Later, near Kharge Petrol Pump, the Collector reviewed road development works and instructed officials to complete service road construction to enable smooth traffic movement, particularly facilitating free left turns from Annapurna Cross. She also ordered the relocation of electric poles obstructing traffic flow and emphasized the need to develop pedestrian pathways and two-wheeler parking facilities for public convenience.
In a separate inspection at Khanadal village, she visited the Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste management plant being developed at a cost of around 4 crore. The facility is designed to scientifically process and recycle construction debris, promoting sustainable waste management practices.
Municipal Commissioner Avinash Shinde, along with senior engineers and other officials, accompanied the inspection. The Collector stressed timely execution and coordinated efforts among departments to ensure efficient delivery of urban infrastructure projects.
