The silent march was for supporting Vinay Kulkarni amid murder case controversy, demanding fair judicial process
Dharwad
Dharwad witnessed a large silent march on Saturday in support of former minister Vinay Kulkarni (VK), with his supporters alleging a political conspiracy in the Yogish Gowda Zilla Panchayat member murder case. Congress workers, leaders and fans gathered at Kadapa Maidan and marched to KCC Bank Circle wearing black bands and carrying VK’s portrait. They later held a public meeting expressing solidarity with VK and his family.
Supporters said the case against VK is part of a political conspiracy and demanded justice through the court process, adding that they will respect the final verdict of the judiciary while continuing to stand with him during the legal battle.
In a related development, former Youth Congress state president Raksha Ramaiah called the Firoz Pathan murder case a black spot for the Congress. He visited the bereaved family in Dharwad and expressed support, stating that the investigation should be completed fairly and the guilty should be punished. He also said the matter has been brought to the notice of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and Home Minister G Parameshwara.
We see growing political tension in the Dharwad region as supporters of VK continue to insist that the case is being influenced by political rivalry rather than evidence. They urged authorities to ensure a fair and transparent investigation without pressure from any group. Meanwhile, Congress leaders maintained that law will take its own course and justice will be delivered through the courts. The situation has drawn attention from local political observers who say the issue could have wider implications in upcoming electoral politics in the district. Authorities continue monitoring the situation closely.
