The Lucky Eleven Premier League-2 sports festival organised by the fourth ward of Nelyahudikeri near Siddapura was inaugurated with the unveiling of the trophy by dignitaries.

Speaking at the event, BJP district general secretary and SNDP Kodagu Union district president V.K. Lokesh said the tournament aims to bring the ward community together and encourage local sports talent. He said the event is not just a competition but a full-fledged sports festival promoting unity and participation.

Lucky Eleven president Saty said the initiative provides a platform for people to come together and share happiness amid busy modern lifestyles and social pressures. He added that the event, running until April 26, will feature cricket matches for the first three days.

On the fourth day, special entertainment competitions will be held for women and children, including tug of war, musical chair, shot put, and other fun games to encourage wider community participation.

Organisers said the festival is designed to strengthen social bonding while promoting sportsmanship among youth and families.

Several community leaders, former panchayat members, and local representatives attended the inauguration event. Organisers noted that the enthusiastic participation of sports lovers and young people added energy and vibrancy to the programme.

The event is expected to continue drawing large crowds throughout its duration, making it a major community sporting celebration in the region.
