Accept AI challenge, build skills: CS Shadakshari

Shivamogga

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is the biggest revolution of the modern world and is being adopted across almost all sectors, including education, said Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association State President C.S. Shadakshari. He urged teacher trainees to accept the challenges of AI and achieve success through digital literacy and skill development.

He was speaking at the valedictory function of the NSS annual special camp organised by Kuvempu Centenary College of Education at Kumshe in Shivamogga taluk.

Shadakshari said AI will significantly impact employment opportunities, with traditional jobs likely to decline due to automation. However, those who upgrade their skills and knowledge in line with new technology will be able to overcome challenges effectively and create self-employment opportunities instead of depending solely on government or private jobs.

He stressed that this is not an era where money alone defines success. It is a time that values knowledge, ideas, planning, and innovation. Individuals who can apply science, technology, and intelligence effectively will find greater recognition and opportunities.

He also noted that many D.Ed colleges in the state have already closed over time, and warned that B.Ed institutions could face similar challenges as AI transforms the education sector. However, he advised students not to panic but to build their future with intelligence and adaptability.

Highlighting the role of NSS, he said students must develop academic knowledge along with life skills, problem-solving ability, discipline, patriotism, and social responsibility. He added that NSS plays a crucial role in shaping responsible citizens.

Several dignitaries, including college officials and NSS coordinators, attended the programme.
