MLA Dr. Shailendra Beldale said providing irrigation facilities to farmers is his duty, commitment, and firm resolve while launching a new irrigation project in Bidar South constituency.

The project, taken up under the 2026-27 plan by the Karnataka Irrigation Department, will supply water to nearly 400 acres of farmland in Bapur village at a cost of ₹5 crore.

Speaking at the event, Beldale said India is an agricultural country and farmers are its backbone, but many still struggle due to water scarcity. He stressed that improving irrigation is essential to support farmers and ensure steady crop production.

He said the new project will increase agricultural output, raise farmers’ income, and improve their overall living conditions. It will also contribute to rural development by strengthening the local economy.

Beldale added that both the Central and State governments are committed to farmer welfare and that more development projects will be implemented in the coming days.

He highlighted that ensuring water supply is not only the government’s responsibility but also a collective duty. “If there is water, there is crop, and if there is crop, there is life,” he said, urging everyone to recognize the importance of water conservation.

The MLA reaffirmed his focus on delivering water to farmland, improving livelihoods, and supporting farmers through continuous development work.

Several local leaders and community members attended the program and expressed support for the initiative.

The event marked a significant step toward addressing water issues in the region and strengthening agriculture in Bidar South constituency.
