NEW DELHI
In a major step toward a greener future, CleanMax has teamed up with Shell India to provide clean energy to its key facilities. This partnership will focus on assets located in Gujarat and Karnataka. Together, they are building hybrid power projects that combine wind and solar energy to keep operations running smoothly while protecting the planet.
In Gujarat, a new 16.83 MW plant is being developed. It uses both sun and wind to power Shell’s massive LNG terminal in Hazira. This hybrid setup is clever because it ensures the power supply remains steady, even when the weather changes. Meanwhile, in Karnataka, a 13.2 MW facility will support the Shell Technology Centre in Bengaluru. This center is a hub for global innovation, and it will now run on cleaner electricity.
Kuldeep Jain, the head of CleanMax, expressed his excitement about the deal. He noted that big companies use nearly half of India’s power. By switching to renewables, these businesses can lead the way in reducing carbon emissions. Mansi Madan Tripathy from Shell added that hybrid solutions are a practical way to balance the need for reliable energy with the goal of being environmentally friendly. The two companies are investing together in these projects. Once finished, the plants are expected to produce over 66,000 MWh of green energy every year. This move proves that sustainability is no longer just a buzzword, it is becoming a core part of how major industries operate in India.
