Several parts of Dakshina Kannada witnessed unseasonal rainfall, offering temporary relief from the ongoing heatwave, even as strong winds and lightning led to widespread disruptions. The sudden change in weather occurred around 6 pm, when strong winds accompanied by thunderstorms swept across the district. The rainfall brought down temperatures briefly, providing much-needed respite to residents who had been enduring intense heat over the past few days. However, the relief was short-lived as the adverse weather conditions also caused damage to property and disrupted normal life in several areas. In Mangaluru city, moderate rainfall was recorded, cooling the urban region to some extent.
