Raichur

Following a warning from the India Meteorological Department about severe heatwave conditions, the Raichur district administration has issued a public advisory. In-charge Deputy Commissioner and Zilla Panchayat CEO Eshwar Kumar Kandu urged people to take precautions to protect their health during the extreme heat.

He advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during peak hours, especially between 12 noon and 3 p.m., when temperatures are highest. People have been asked to drink plenty of water and wear light cotton clothes to stay cool. Those stepping outside are encouraged to use caps, umbrellas, and sunglasses for protection.

The advisory also suggests using a wet cloth on the head and face to reduce heat impact. People are encouraged to drink fluids like buttermilk, lemon water, and lassi to stay hydrated. Special care has been advised for children, elderly persons, pregnant women, and those suffering from heart problems or high blood pressure.

Authorities have warned against leaving children or pets inside parked vehicles, as it can be dangerous in high temperatures. Citizens are also advised to avoid wearing tight or dark-colored clothes and to stay away from drinks that may cause dehydration.

The district administration has appealed to everyone to remain alert and follow safety measures to prevent heat-related illnesses.
