CTA raises concern over Tibetan prisoner case

Dharamsala

The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) has highlighted the case of Tibetan political prisoner Tsultrim Gyaltsen ahead of his expected release in 2026. The CTA expressed concern over his prolonged imprisonment and reported treatment during detention, saying it reflects wider issues faced by Tibetan political detainees. It urged continued international attention to human rights conditions in the region and greater transparency in such cases. The CTA noted that Gyaltsen’s case has drawn advocacy from rights groups over the years. While welcoming his expected release, it stressed that true freedom must include dignity, safety, and an end to post-release restrictions.
