Union Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh offered prayers at the Maravijaya Pagoda in Naypyidaw, Myanmar, during his official visit. The visit is part of his four-day trip from April 8 to April 11, 2026, where he is attending the inauguration of Myanmar’s new president and holding diplomatic engagements. He said the teachings of Lord Buddha continue to guide the shared spiritual traditions and people-to-people ties between India and Myanmar. During the visit, he also met senior Myanmar leaders and handed over a letter of felicitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to President U Min Aung Hlaing. India reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation, development partnership, and regional connectivity with Myanmar going forward.
