A special awareness programme on yoga, meditation and pranayama was organised at K.H. Patil Government First Class College in Hulakoti as part of World Health Day 2026 celebrations. College Principal Dr. Sudha Kaujageri said that yoga, meditation and pranayama are the three main pillars of a healthy life.
She advised students to spend some time every day practicing these activities along with academics to maintain both physical and mental well being. She explained that regular practice helps achieve peace, happiness and better concentration in daily life.
NSS Coordinator and History Professor Dr. Appanna Hanje spoke about the rich heritage of yoga and pranayama, calling them ancient treasures of India that have now gained global recognition. He said these practices play an important role in improving mental peace, reading habits and overall personality development. Several faculty members including Dr. Lakshmana Mulagunda, Dr. Nemani Satish, Basavaraja Balaganur Math, Dr. Sarika Patila, Shweta Palanakar and Dr. Manjunath Tylagadi addressed students and explained the importance of these practices in modern life. A practical demonstration was also conducted to show simple techniques that can be followed daily.
The programme was coordinated by Savitri T and attended by professors and students who actively participated and learned the benefits of maintaining a balanced lifestyle through yoga and meditation regularly.
