Farmers from Hireguntanur village in Chitradurga taluk distributed traditional refreshments to devotees attending the Dyamalamba Devi fair. As part of the annual practice, they prepared panaka in large pots and carried it in decorated bullock carts with coconut leaves and branches. The carts moved through different parts of the village, offering drinks to relieve the heat and tiredness of devotees. Farmers said they first prayed at the Anjaneyaswamy temple before beginning the service. The event also saw a farmer writing “RCB” on his bulls, wishing the cricket team success in the IPL season.
