A 27-year-old tractor driver was killed on the spot after a tractor loaded with sand overturned near Bhimashappa Nagar, adjacent to the state highway in Shahabad town. The deceased has been identified as Mallappa Chandram Poojari, a resident of Taranalli village in Shahabad taluk. According to police sources, the incident occurred when the tractor, loaded with sand, was being driven from Old Shahabad via the Sibirakatta internal road and was being taken onto State Highway 125. During the process, the engine reportedly lifted upward, causing the driver to get trapped between the engine and the trailer, leading to his death on the spot. Police from Shahabad Town Police Station visited the scene, conducted an inspection, and have registered a case. Further investigation is underway.
