Vijayapura

In a major breakthrough, Vijayapura district police have successfully recovered 340 stolen and lost mobile phones as part of a special drive conducted across the district. The operation, carried out over a span of one month, led to the retrieval of mobile phones worth approximately ₹3 crore, which have now been returned to their rightful owners. The achievement highlights the efficiency and proactive approach of the district police. The recovery was made possible with the assistance of the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) system, which enabled police to track and seize the missing devices.

Personnel from 26 police stations participated in the operation. Police teams from Basavan Bagewadi, Indi, Vijayapura city, and rural subdivisions worked in coordination to ensure the success of the drive. Superintendent of Police Lakshman Nimbargi stated that timely registration of lost mobile phones on the CEIR portal by the public plays a crucial role in facilitating quick recovery. The operation stands as a testament to the effective use of technology and strong public cooperation, with Vijayapura police once again demonstrating their commitment and efficiency in serving the community.
