In an unfortunate incident, fodder and hay stacks were reduced to ashes after a sudden fire broke out in Mavinabhavi village of Lingsugur taluk.
According to sources, the fire accidentally engulfed two hay stacks and two fodder heaps belonging to farmers Rachanagouda Navali and Hanumappa Chittapur. The flames spread rapidly, leaving little time for villagers to respond. Upon receiving information, personnel from the fire and emergency services rushed to the spot and made efforts to douse the fire. However, by the time they brought the situation under control, the fodder and hay stacks had already been completely destroyed.
The incident has caused significant distress to the affected farmers, especially as it comes during the summer season when fodder scarcity is already a major concern. The loss is expected to impact livestock management in the coming weeks. Preliminary estimates suggest that fodder and hay worth around ₹50,000 to ₹60,000 were destroyed in the fire. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Local residents have urged authorities to provide compensation to the affected farmers to help them recover from the losses.
