South Korea and France have agreed to cooperate on securing safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz amid Middle East tensions says President Lee Jae Myung. During talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, the leaders discussed boosting energy security, trade, and economic stability. They signed agreements on nuclear and wind energy, advanced technologies, critical minerals, and cultural exchange. Both leaders emphasized peace in the Korean Peninsula and global stability. Lee welcomed France’s G7 invitation and praised the upgrade of bilateral relations to a “global strategic partnership,” marking a milestone in 140 years of friendship.
