MLA Chennareddy Patil Tunnur has directed officials to take all necessary measures to ensure that no village in his constituency faces a drinking water shortage during the peak summer months. Chairing a review meeting at the Taluk Panchayat office, he discussed the water situation in gram panchayats of Shahapur, Wadagera, and Yadgir taluks. He emphasized that with rising temperatures in April and May, proactive steps must be taken to prevent any crisis. He also instructed officials to ensure adequate fodder supply for livestock.

The MLA noted that out of 30 gram panchayats in the constituency, 21 RO plants are currently non-functional and ordered immediate repairs. To address water scarcity in vulnerable villages, it was decided to supply water through private borewells, with a monthly payment of ₹11,000.

Officials from Shahapur, Yadgir, and Wadagera taluks presented reports on the current water status and ongoing measures. Tunnur also made it mandatory to clean water tanks weekly and maintain sanitation by clearing drains and spraying bleaching powder. Instructions were issued to drill new borewells wherever required.

Issuing a stern warning, he said all Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs) must remain stationed at their headquarters and respond promptly to public grievances, failing which they would face suspension. Officials indicated that villages such as Ramasamudra, Varkanalli, Pagalapur, Mushkar, and Panchasheel Nagar in Arakera may face potential water shortages if preventive measures are not taken.
