The district unit of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind will organize an Eid harmony meet today (April 4) at Veerashaiva Kalyana Mantap in the city at 7:30 PM, said district convener Saleem Pasha during a press conference.
He stated that the holy month of Ramadan holds great significance for Muslims, who observe fasting for a month and celebrate Eid on the first day of Shawwal. The harmony meet aims to spread awareness about the values of unity, peace, and communal harmony associated with the festival.
Several dignitaries are expected to attend the event as chief guests, including Sri Shantamall Shivacharya Mahaswamiji of Kille Bruhanmath, Methodist Church district superintendent Rev. Fr. R. Syamail, Minister for Minor Irrigation and Science & Technology N. S. Boseraju, MP G. Kumar Naik, and MLA Dr. Shivaraj Patil. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind leader Hameed Mohammed Khan will deliver the keynote address, while the program will be presided over by Mohammed Kunhi. Leaders have appealed to people from all communities to participate in large numbers and strengthen communal harmony.
