LPG Shortage Troubles Vijayapura Families amid Supply Disruptions

Slug: LPG Crisis

Vijayapura

The shortage of household cooking gas (LPG) continues to trouble residents across Vijayapura district, causing major inconvenience to families in their daily lives. The ongoing disruption in supply has left many households struggling to manage basic cooking needs.

According to sources, the shortage is linked to prevailing war-related conditions that have affected the distribution chain. As a result, long queues have been seen outside gas agencies, especially Bharat Gas and Indane Gas outlets near Station Road in the city. Many residents have been waiting from early morning in the hope of getting cylinders.

However, the situation has added to public frustration as several agencies have displayed “No Stock” boards, forcing people to return empty-handed. The lack of availability has hit women and families the hardest, as most households depend entirely on LPG for cooking.

Residents have expressed anger over the irregular supply and lack of proper communication from gas agencies. Many complained that they were not informed about stock availability, leading to unnecessary waiting and crowding at distribution centres.

With the shortage continuing for several days, some families have been forced to look for alternative cooking methods, adding to their financial and physical burden. Citizens have urged the authorities to take immediate action to restore normal supply.

They have also demanded better transparency from agencies regarding stock updates to avoid confusion and ensure fair distribution of LPG cylinders across the district without further delay.
