Kannada Sena Demands Strict Action against Rising Crime

Raichur

Raising concern over increasing crime, Kannada Sena Karnataka has urged police to take strict action across Raichur district. The group pointed to rising theft, gambling, robbery, and drug peddling incidents.

A delegation from the Raichur unit submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police, highlighting illegal activities in several taluks and rural areas. They said gambling, theft, and sale of narcotics like ganja are happening openly, affecting public peace.

The organisation warned that such activities are pushing youth towards addiction and creating fear among residents. Women and the general public feel unsafe due to the growing presence of drug addicts on streets.

Kannada Sena demanded increased night patrolling and strict vigilance in Raichur, Devadurga, Arakera, Sirwar, Manvi, Lingsugur, Maski, and Sindhanur. They also called for stronger police presence in public places and action against illegal gambling dens.

The memorandum further sought special drives against drug peddlers, especially near colleges, to protect young people. The group stressed the need for immediate steps to control the situation.

Leaders warned that if authorities fail to act, protests will be held across the district and taluk headquarters.

District President M. Basavaraj, Working President Hanumesh Nayak Meti, Vice President Govind Chauhan, and several other office-bearers were present during the submission.
