Blurb: Teams discuss key regional and global developments during high-level consultations in New Delhi

Vikram Misri held detailed talks with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko on Monday as part of the Foreign Office Consultations (FOCs). The meeting focused on reviewing the full range of bilateral relations and exchanging views on important regional and global issues.
Both sides assessed the progress made in implementing decisions taken during the 23rd Annual Summit held in New Delhi in December 2025. The discussions covered key areas of cooperation under the India-Russia Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership, reflecting the strong and longstanding ties between the two countries.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the consultations provided an opportunity to review ongoing collaborations and identify ways to further strengthen cooperation. The two officials also discussed plans for upcoming high-level engagements between the leadership of both nations, indicating continued diplomatic momentum.
The Embassy of Russia in India stated that the talks included a wide range of topics on the bilateral agenda, along with an exchange of views on regional and international developments. The dialogue highlighted the shared interest of both countries in maintaining stability and cooperation on global issues.
During his visit, Rudenko also met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. After the meeting, Jaishankar described the interaction as positive and said discussions were held on advancing cooperation across various sectors, along with reviewing regional and global developments.
The previous round of Foreign Office Consultations between India and Russia was held in Moscow in March 2025. The latest meeting in New Delhi reflects the continued engagement between the two nations to strengthen their partnership and address evolving global challenges through dialogue and cooperation.
