A tragic road accident occurred near Kannolli Toll Gate in Sindagi taluk of Vijayapura district on Tuesday, where a bike rider was burnt alive following a head-on collision with a bus.

According to reports, a transport corporation bus bearing registration number KA28 F 2095 collided head-on with a motorcycle (KA28 HK 2551). Due to the impact, the bike caught fire, and the rider was charred to death on the spot.

The deceased has been identified as Abhishek Sayabagouda Nagaral (19), a resident of Mulasavalagi village in Devara Hipparagi town of Vijayapura district.The bus also caught fire following the collision. However, all passengers on board managed to escape in time, avoiding any casualties.

On receiving information, the Sindagi Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire. Sindagi police also visited the scene, conducted an inspection, and have registered a case. Further investigation is underway.The incident falls under the jurisdiction of Sindagi Police Station.
