Farmer organizations from North Karnataka have issued a strong warning to both central and state governments, threatening to stage a massive protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on May 8 over delays in implementing the Mahadayi and Kalasabanduri projects. The growing dissatisfaction among farmers in North Karnataka has reached a critical point, as several farmer groups have come together to demand immediate action on long-pending irrigation projects. Despite a tribunal verdict in favor of the Mahadayi and Kalasabanduri projects, farmers allege that both the central and state governments have failed to take meaningful steps toward implementation. Farmer leaders accused authorities of indulging in political delays rather than addressing the urgent needs of the agricultural community.
