Mehbooba Mufti on Monday voiced strong support for Iran as tensions continue to rise in West Asia. She said she believes Iran will ultimately defeat the United States and Israel. Speaking to reporters, the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister stated that Iranian forces are highly motivated and ready to fight, while she claimed that American and Israeli troops are losing ground and retreating from conflict zones.
Her comments came at a time when Donald Trump announced that the US military had successfully targeted and destroyed several important locations in Iran. He described the development as a “big day” and asserted that Iran’s naval and air strength had been heavily damaged by the strikes.
Trump also indicated that the US might consider taking control of Kharg Island, a key Iranian oil export centre. He said the island could be captured without much resistance, highlighting its importance in global oil supply and trade routes.
At the same time, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf accused the US and Israel of planning a ground invasion while pretending to engage in diplomatic talks. He warned that Iran is fully prepared to defend itself and will not give in to external pressure under any circumstances.
With strong statements coming from all sides, the situation in the region remains tense. The ongoing conflict has raised fears of further escalation, with concerns growing about the possibility of a wider and prolonged confrontation.
