Inmates booked after B’luru jail viral video sparks outrage

A video from inside Parappana Agrahara Jail has gone viral again. It has been revealed from the complaint filed by the jail superintendent that the undertrial prisoners themselves have not only recorded videos of the luxurious arrangements inside their own 1st Tower, 9th Barracks 1st Room on their mobile phones, but have also filmed entertainment services such as mobile phones, TV, Netflix and others and shared them on social media.

The video also goes viral on the internet, where it is stated that, an IAS officer is responsible for these privileges. Also, the DIG has facilitated the current privileges.

If you have money in jail, you can get anything you want, says one prisoner. In another video, the words, IPL cricket cup is ours, are heard. The prisoners, who filmed this video inside their cell on Friday midnight, have shared it on social media.

Video against the transfer of undertrial prisoners to barracks alphabetically: In order to ensure discipline and prevent the prisoners from conspired in any criminal act, the jail authorities had transferred the prisoners alphabetically, sorted them and sent them to their rooms as per the orders of the DIG. The accused in the video have also admitted that they had taken up this act to take revenge for the recent tightening of prison rules.

As the video went viral outside the jail, the jail superintendent Anshukumar’s team conducted a search in the barracks. They questioned the prisoners named Gipson Daniel, Sanjeev, Manoj, Abhishek and Gokul and took action. They seized 9 mobiles, 6 SIMs, one air phone, two air buds, and 1 mobile charger. A case has been registered at the Parappana Agrahara police station regarding the act of the prisoners.
