Self-Enumeration Facility Announced for Census Exercise

Karwar

Authorities have introduced a self-enumeration facility for the upcoming census exercise, allowing residents to submit their details online within a specified period.
According to District Commissioner K. Lakshmipriya, the house listing and population enumeration process will be conducted from April 1 to May 15, 2026. As part of this initiative, citizens have been given the option to complete their census details independently through an online platform.

Residents can access the official census portal and fill in their household and personal information digitally. The self-enumeration process enables any member of a household to register details on behalf of the family. Upon successful submission, users will receive a unique self-enumeration identification number via mobile or email.

Officials have clarified that when census enumerators visit households for verification, residents must provide this identification number to confirm their submission and complete the process. This system is expected to streamline data collection and reduce the need for repeated visits.

The district administration has urged all citizens to actively participate in the self-enumeration process and provide accurate information. Authorities emphasized that the data collected will remain secure and confidential, and will be used strictly for national planning and development purposes.

The initiative aims to make the census process more efficient and accessible by leveraging digital technology, while also ensuring wider public participation. Officials believe that this step will contribute to more reliable data collection and help in better governance and policy-making in the future.
