Mahavir Jayanti was celebrated with devotion and cultural significance in Karwar, highlighting the timeless teachings of non-violence, truth, and compassion. The event was organized at a government auditorium with the joint efforts of the district administration, Zilla Panchayat, and the Department of Kannada and Culture. The celebration marked the birth anniversary of Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism, whose teachings continue to inspire society. Speaking on the occasion, officials emphasized that Mahavir’s message of non-violence, peace, and coexistence remains highly relevant in today’s world. They noted that his principles encourage individuals to lead a life rooted in truth, compassion, and ethical values, promoting harmony in society.
