Afghanistan is stepping up regional outreach amid ongoing tensions with Pakistan and the war in West Asia. Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi met Iran’s envoy to discuss trade and support for peaceful resolution of Afghanistan-Pakistan issues. Iran emphasized dialogue and regional stability. Meanwhile, Muttaqi spoke with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, highlighting the need to prevent Afghan territory from being used against Pakistan and appreciating UAE’s mediation in US-Afghan matters. With borders closed and aid limited, Afghanistan seeks cooperation from neighbors to ease supply challenges and promote stability amid rising regional conflicts.
