In a commendable initiative, members of the Ex-Servicemen’s Association are volunteering to maintain discipline and security at SSLC examination centres in Rona taluk of Gadag district, ensuring a smooth and peaceful environment for students.
Amid the ongoing SSLC examinations across the state, ex-servicemen from various villages in Rona taluk have stepped forward to assist authorities in maintaining order at examination centres. These volunteers are working in coordination with the police and education department staff to ensure that exams are conducted without any disruptions.
The initiative, which has been ongoing for the past three years, has become a model of community service and civic responsibility. The presence of disciplined and experienced ex-servicemen at exam centres has significantly contributed to maintaining a calm and secure atmosphere, helping students focus on their examinations without fear or disturbance.
During a surprise visit to the examination centre at Sri Veerabhadreshwara High School, the Deputy Director of School Education and Literacy, R.S., observed the dedication of the ex-servicemen. He noted that they were stationed at both the front and rear of the centre, effectively performing duties similar to police personnel to ensure strict vigilance and prevent any untoward incidents.
Officials have emphasized that the involvement of ex-servicemen plays a crucial role in creating a conducive environment for students. Their discipline, commitment, and sense of duty have been widely appreciated by both authorities and the public.
The initiative has received praise from various quarters, with many lauding the ex-servicemen for their selfless service. Parents and students have expressed gratitude, stating that the presence of such volunteers provides reassurance and boosts confidence during the examination period.
As appreciation continues to pour in, this effort stands as a shining example of how experienced individuals can contribute positively to society, particularly in supporting the education system and ensuring the well-being of students.
