Chikkaballapur
A young athlete from Chikkaballapur district has brought pride to Karnataka by securing a bronze medal at the national-level athletics competition held in Chandigarh.
Sirinaagaraju, a resident of Bhaktarahalli village in Shidlaghatta taluk, represented Karnataka in the 4×100 meters relay event at the national competition from March 24 to March 29 in Chandigarh, Punjab. Competing in the under-20 category, he and his team delivered an impressive performance to clinch the bronze medal.
Sirinaagaraju has consistently demonstrated excellence in athletics from a young age. He has previously participated in competitions across various age categories including under-14, under-16, and under-18 levels. His achievements span events such as the 100 meters sprint, long jump, and relay races, where he has secured medals at state, South India, and national-level competitions, as well as at school and college meets.
Following his recent achievement, a felicitation ceremony was organized to honor the athlete. The event was held at the residence of K. V. Naveen Kiran, President of the District Athletics Association. Several dignitaries and sports officials attended the ceremony to congratulate Sirinaagaraju on his success.
Among those present were Nirmala Sai Prabhu, District Athletics Association General Secretary Manchanabale Srinivas, Joint Secretary Bhaktarahalli Nagaraju, and national athlete Bhoomika. They praised Sirinaagaraju’s dedication, discipline, and consistent performance in athletics.
Officials expressed confidence that his achievement would inspire other young athletes in the district to pursue sports seriously and aim for national and international success. They also emphasized the importance of providing continued support and training opportunities to emerging talents.
Sirinaagaraju’s accomplishment marks another milestone for Chikkaballapur district in the field of athletics, reinforcing its growing reputation for nurturing sporting talent.
