Auto drivers in Hiriyur are facing severe difficulties due to long waiting times for LPG refilling, leading to frustration and disruption in their daily livelihood.
In Hiriyur town, auto drivers have expressed growing concern over the shortage and delayed availability of LPG, which is essential for running their vehicles. Many drivers reported that they are forced to wait for several hours at gas stations, often losing valuable working time and income in the process.
The issue has become more pressing in recent days, with drivers alleging irregular supply and poor management at distribution points. Several drivers stated that they arrive early in the morning hoping to get their turn, but end up waiting for extended periods due to limited stock and long queues.
Auto drivers, who depend entirely on daily earnings, said the situation has severely impacted their financial stability. We spend most of our day waiting in line instead of earning money. It is becoming impossible to manage our expenses, one driver said.
The shortage has also affected commuters, as fewer autos are available on the roads during peak hours. Passengers are reportedly facing inconvenience due to reduced transport options, especially in busy areas of the town.
Drivers have urged the authorities and gas agencies to take immediate action to streamline the supply process. They have demanded regular and sufficient availability of LPG, along with better queue management to avoid unnecessary delays.
Local residents and commuters have also supported the drivers’ concerns, calling for a quick resolution to ensure smooth public transport services. If the issue continues, it may further disrupt daily life and economic activity in the region.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the situation, but drivers remain hopeful that their grievances will be addressed soon.
