Indian hockey sensation Navneet Kaur has officially been crowned the Player of the Year, but she refuses to take all the credit. After receiving the prestigious Balbir Singh Sr. Award at the Hockey India 8th Annual Awards, the star forward turned the spotlight back onto her teammates.
Navneet’s humble reaction followed a spectacular year on the turf. She played a massive role in India’s recent string of successes, including a hard-fought silver medal at the World Cup Qualifiers. Not only did she net four goals during that tournament, but she also walked away with the Player of the Tournament trophy. Her scoring streak continued at the Women’s Asia Cup 2025, where she added six more goals to help India secure yet another silver medal.
Beyond the trophies, Navneet reached a personal milestone by completing 200 international matches. This achievement cements her place as a legendary pillar of India’s attacking lineup. Despite the individual glory, Navneet insists that her constant support system on the field is what truly makes her shine. She believes the team’s belief in her was the secret ingredient to her consistent performances throughout the season.
Looking forward, Navneet is already focusing on the next big challenges, including the Nations Cup and the Asian Games. She says there is always room to get better and is determined to sharpen her skills even further. For this champion, the award is not a finish line, but a motivation to lead India to even greater international victories.
